This painting is a message of hope but also a cry for help.

A year ago, I was amazed to see the smiles and joy on the faces of children in Gaza, despite the situation. I was even criticized for painting overly cheerful faces!

However, details are there to recall the so difficult situation: the presence of UNICEF, water collection, smoke from the bombing, the injury, the key around the neck. And especially the following detail: “I am Mounir,” written on the little boy’s arm so that his body could be identified.
